What's new in the Upper East Side?

I've all the juicy "deets" for anyone who wants to know!

Oozing historic elegance, cultural heritage, and vintage beauty, Miami's Upper East Side may be the lesser-known counterpart of NYC's Upper East Side, but it's unrivaled as most Magic City communities can be, especially in character and creature convenience!

In fact, this 27-block district isn't just a sought-after tourist destination but one of Miami's best places to call home!

And what's even better is that the Upper East Side is evolving into a MiMo Historic District far from what you've ever known!

Upcoming mixed-use projects, shops, boutiques, and trendy eats — this new version of the Upper East Side is the place to be — and BEAT!

Here are 3 things new to watch for in the Upper East Side.

Are New Mixed-Use Projects In The Pipeline For The Upper East Side?

Where: across the Upper East Side

When: TBA

If you didn't already know, the MiMo Biscayne Boulevard Historic District and the Historic and Environmental Preservation Board recently approved an amended resolution involving a 35 to 55-foot increase in new developments around the Upper East Side — with a few requirements and conditions.

Since then, developers have been popping in proposals left and right, including a five-story building from Avra Jain of the Vagabond Group, which will offer two levels of office space and roughly 250 parking spaces in a three-floor garage operated by the MPA at 7500 Biscayne Blvd.

Roughly ten blocks south, Asia Capital Real Estate is also planning to build a multifamily residential building with 449 units next to Legion Park, which will be an  85-foot development with approximately 45 to 75 affordable or workforce housing units, 34 to 186 public parking spaces, and a public promenade.

Of course, let's not forget Morningside's planned retail and residential project, Morningside Place (5445-5501 Biscayne Blvd.), announced in 2012 and is finally underway!

Although some kinks still need to be addressed before these mixed-use projects are finally realized (apart from Morningside Place), we can't wait to see what happens next to these promising developments!

Stay tuned for more updates!

Where: 7580 NE 4th Ct, Miami, FL 33138

When: Happening Now!

Have you been to Miami Ironside lately?

If you've already had your weekly visit, you may have noticed new tenants lurking around the bustling business center!

And if you haven't yet, don't worry, we got you!

First on the list is Creating Me Miami (7520 NE 4th Ct., Suite 105), the newest kiddie club in Miami Ironside!

At Creating Me Miami, children can learn to create themselves through self-expression, awareness, and empowerment, with programming designed to develop their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive skills!

Sometimes, activities involve sweet treats, too!

Another new tenant in the "building" is Mercy Pottery (7580 NE 4th Ct., Suite 107), a safe space to experiment with clay!

At Mercy Pottery, you can schedule pottery classes and explore a new hobby while letting your imagination soar.

In the recent Open House, Miami Ironside also welcomed the atelier of Valeria Krasavina, Fine Frenchie (7580 NE 4th Ct. Suite 104), through a magical celebration called the Muse project involving incredible women, a gorgeous display of Valeria's one-of-a-kind pieces, and delicious food!

Which brands and amenities will join Miami Ironside next?

Keep your eyes peeled for updates!

Introducing The Newest Eats In The Upper East Side!

Where: across the Upper East Side

When: Happening Now!

Are you curious about the newest food spots around the Upper East Side?

If you're raring for something different to try this weekend, these are the best places to start!

Joining Shorecrest in June 2023 is a new restaurant and bar by Adam Gersten, owner of Gramps Wynwood, the New Schnitzel House (1085 NE 79th St.), a go-to for German comfort food classics with a Miami twist.

The 2,200-square-foot restaurant features two bars, an indoor dining room, and an outdoor patio, and its delicious menu pays homage to the first Schnitzel Haus that came before it, built right on the same site!

Dimmi (5599 Biscayne Blvd.), formerly Osteria Baiocco, also opened in March and offers a safe space for style and elegance — and a 360-degree Italian gastronomic experience boasting the perfect mix between the flavors of home, the traditional Italian taste, and a pinch of creativity!

Oh, and for the meat-free food lovers out there, don't fret!

Morningside just got its first elevated vegetarian restaurant last April, inviting locals to eat better, healthier, and tastier!

I'm talking about Flora Plant Kitchen (5580 NE 4th Ct.- #4B), a sanctuary for vegetarians and those looking for elevated meat-free dining with a Miami-inspired Latin twist founded by Australian designer and restaurateur Marnie Gelhard of DMS Earth Hospitality Group!

At Flora Plant Kitchen, you can enjoy Colombian and Mexican dishes guilt-free and reduce your carbon footprint without sacrificing satisfaction and flavor!

Your beloved Blue Collar is also hopping across the boulevard to a much larger location with an exciting new addition — a full bar.

Slated for April, the new Blue Collar will be located at 6789 Biscayne Blvd., encompassing 4,000 square feet instead of 800 square feet, allowing the restaurant to expand its menu and indoor and outdoor seating!

Looks like your Upper East Side weekends just got tastier!
